Education Ministry launches Chandrayaan portal for students – details here
The successful event by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) that launched Chandrayaan 3 recently has motivated the Ministry of Education to create awareness of space possibilities among students. On Monday, October 16, the Ministry of Education announced ‘Apna Chandrayaan’ programme and urged educational institutions to promote the event for more participation.
‘Apna Chandrayaan’ is an online portal that includes activity-based learning including colouring books, online quizzes and jigsaw puzzles on India’s Chandrayaan mission developed by NCERT. The website explains the Chandrayaan mission in simplest mode for students and covers topics like scientific, technological and social aspects. The module includes 10 special topics on Chandrayaan 3 for a comprehensive understanding.
Earlier, the same initiative was taken by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in which Chandrayaan-3 Maha Quiz was introduced for students. To test students’ understanding of the Chandrayaan-3 project and space science in general, the quiz has been launched. The purpose of the quiz is to educate and inform the public about the nation’s space exploration endeavors and to motivate students to pursue further education in this area.
Interested students can visit the official website of UGC to register for Chandrayaan-3 Maha Quiz till October 31, 2023.
In collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), MyGov is hosting the Chandrayaan-3 Maha Quiz. The quiz will have multiple choice questions revolving around Chandrayaan-3, space science, and general space exploration knowledge with four options to choose from. A total of 10 questions will be asked and candidates will be required to answer them within 300 seconds.
